License Requirements
To legally ride a motorbike in Thailand, you need:
- International Driving Permit (IDP) - Get this from your home country before traveling. Must include motorcycle category.
- Thai Driving License - Recommended if staying longer than 3 months. Apply at Chonburi DLT office.
Warning
Riding without a valid license can void your insurance and result in fines. Police actively enforce this, especially with tourists.
