Swimming Pools in Pattaya
Public pools, hotel day passes, water parks, rooftop infinity pools, and the best spots to cool off in Pattaya.
Public Swimming Pools
Pattaya has several public pools. The Pattaya City Pool near Soi Buakhao offers Olympic-sized swimming for 30–50 THB entry. Jomtien Sports Complex has a clean pool open daily 06:00–20:00 for 40 THB. These pools are well-maintained, chlorinated, and popular with local Thai swimmers — less crowded on weekday mornings.
Hotel Day Passes — Luxury
Five-star hotels sell day passes granting access to their stunning pools, gyms, and sometimes beaches. Hilton Pattaya: 1,000–1,500 THB (infinity pool with bay views). Royal Cliff: 800–1,200 THB (multiple pools in a resort setting). Centara Grand: 700–1,000 THB. Prices often include a food/drink credit. Call ahead to confirm availability.
Hotel Day Passes — Mid-Range
Mid-range hotels offer excellent pool access at lower prices. Mercure Pattaya: 300–500 THB day pass. Hard Rock Hotel: 500–800 THB with a rock-themed pool. Holiday Inn: 400–600 THB. Many smaller boutique hotels along Pratumnak and Jomtien sell day passes for 200–400 THB — just walk in and ask at reception.
Water Parks
Cartoon Network Amazone (Jomtien) is Pattaya's top water park — slides, wave pool, lazy river, and kids' zones. Entry 1,200–1,500 THB (adults), 800–1,000 THB (children). Open 10:00–18:00. Columbia Pictures Aquaverse (when open) offers movie-themed water rides from 1,200 THB. Ramayana Water Park (30 min drive) is Southeast Asia's largest at 1,300 THB.
Beach Club Pools
Several beach clubs combine pool access with food and drinks. XANA Beach Club at Hilton has an infinity pool overlooking the sea — minimum spend applies. Cafe del Mar at Pattaya Beach offers pool+sunbed packages from 500 THB. These are the most Instagram-worthy pool experiences in the city.
Family-Friendly Pools
For families, Cartoon Network Amazone has dedicated kids' zones with shallow pools and gentle slides. Many hotel pools have children's sections. The Legend Siam splash area is included with park entry (500 THB). Look for hotels with separate kiddie pools — Holiday Inn, Centara, and Best Western all have them.
Lap Swimming & Fitness
Serious swimmers can use the 50-meter pool at Pattaya City Pool or buy a gym+pool membership. Tony's Fitness (multiple branches) offers pool access with gym membership from 1,500 THB/month. Some condos along Jomtien sell monthly pool access to non-residents for 2,000–3,000 THB. Early morning (06:00–08:00) is quietest for laps.
Condo Pool Access
Many condominiums in Pattaya have impressive rooftop or resort-style pools. If you're renting an Airbnb or condo, pool access is usually included. Some high-rise condos (The Base, Lumpini, Unixx) have stunning infinity pools on upper floors. Day visitors generally cannot access condo pools — you need to be a resident or guest.
Rooftop Pools
Several hotels have rooftop pools with panoramic views. Hilton's rooftop infinity pool is legendary but reserved for guests and day-pass holders. Siam@Siam hotel has a trendy rooftop pool and bar. The Zign Hotel in Naklua has a gorgeous elevated pool. Rooftop pools are best experienced from 15:00–sunset for the views and light.
Best Pool Areas by Location
Pratumnak Hill: upscale condo and hotel pools with sea views. Jomtien: family-friendly hotel pools and beach access. North Pattaya/Naklua: resort-style pools at Wong Amat condos. Central Pattaya: hotel pools at Hilton, Central, and Hard Rock. For public pools, central Pattaya and Jomtien have the best municipal options.
Best Times to Swim
Early morning (06:00–08:00) is coolest and least crowded — ideal for lap swimming. Midday (11:00–14:00) is hot but pools are at their warmest. Late afternoon (15:00–17:00) offers the best balance of warmth and comfort. Avoid hotel pools on weekends during peak season (Dec–Feb) when they're packed. Water parks are less crowded on weekdays.
Pool Safety & Etiquette
Always shower before entering pools (Thai etiquette). Apply sunscreen 20 minutes before swimming to let it absorb. Lifeguards are present at water parks but rarely at hotel pools — supervise children closely. Most hotel pools are 1.2–1.8 meters deep. Water parks require separate swimwear (no cotton clothing in pools).
