Remote-work visa Thailand — DTV, LTR, and the real options
Thailand's DTV (Destination Thailand Visa), LTR, and the freelance-friendly workarounds. What drives the cost, eligibility, and which visa fits which nomad income tier.
The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is a multi-entry visa aimed squarely at remote workers earning outside Thailand. Fees, permitted stay per entry, extension rules, and the financial proof required are set by the Thai authorities, so confirm the current terms on the official e-visa site. For higher earners, the Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa offers a longer stay with tax benefits and has its own income threshold. Everyone below the LTR threshold uses the DTV, the Elite Visa, or the older work-permit plus Non-B combo.
