Thailand's Progressive Stance
Thailand is one of Asia's most LGBTQ+-friendly countries. The Marriage Equality Act was passed in 2024, making Thailand the first Southeast Asian nation to legalize same-sex marriage.
Public Affection
While Thailand is tolerant, Thai culture generally frowns on excessive PDA for all couples. Holding hands is fine; keep intimate displays private.
Transgender Respect
Thailand has a well-known 'kathoey' (transgender) culture. Use preferred pronouns and names. Most Thais are respectful and accepting.
Healthcare Access
