    Fact-Checking Policy

How Pattaya Knowledge verifies facts: source standards, expert review, on-the-ground checking, and our correction process.

    Source hierarchy

    1. Primary sources — official government bodies (Thai Immigration, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Royal Thai Police, Ministry of Public Health, Department of Land Transport), embassies, hospitals, schools, businesses directly.
    2. Editorial fieldwork — our contributors visit places, take photos, gather pricing, verify hours, talk to staff.
    3. Secondary sources — established news outlets (Bangkok Post, Pattaya Mail), professional bodies, peer-reviewed research.

    What we never do

    • Publish unverified rumors as fact.
    • Quote prices without a date and source.
    • Cite social-media posts as primary sources.
    • Recommend businesses solely on the basis of advertising payment.

    Time-sensitive content

Visa rules, immigration office processes, hospital pricing, event dates, and transport fares change. Each of these pages carries a last-reviewed date and a "report incorrect info" link. We re-check time-sensitive content on a fixed cadence — see how we update pages.

    Health, legal, financial caveats

Editorial content is informational. It does not replace professional medical, legal, or financial advice. See our disclaimers hub.
