Most expats use VPNs daily without any issues. The Thai government blocks some VPN websites but not VPN connections themselves.

Netflix Thailand has a different library than US/UK Netflix. With a VPN set to your home country, you access your full home library. Same for BBC iPlayer (UK), Hulu (US), Disney+ regional content, and sports streaming (Sky Sports, ESPN+). Streaming services actively try to block VPNs — choose providers known for reliably bypassing detection.

Many banks block logins from Thai IP addresses as a fraud prevention measure. A VPN set to your home country server solves this instantly.
