    🍴 Street Food Tips

    • Hygiene: Look for busy stalls — high turnover means fresh food. Avoid stalls where food sits in the sun.
    • Water: Never drink tap water. Street food is cooked fresh and is generally very safe.
    • Ordering: Point and smile works! Most vendors know basic English. Learn "อร่อย" (a-roi = delicious).
    • Spice level: Say "mai pet" (ไม่เผ็ด) for no spice, or "pet nit noi" (เผ็ดนิดหน่อย) for a little spice.
    • Timing: Breakfast stalls open 6–9 AM. Lunch 11 AM–2 PM. Night markets 5–11 PM.
    • Payment: Cash only at most stalls. Keep small bills (20 and 100 THB notes).
