    U-Tapao Airport Lounges

U-Tapao Rayong-Pattaya Airport (UTP) has limited lounge facilities compared to major airports. The departure area has a small lounge operated by the airport authority — basic seating, snacks, and drinks for 500–800 THB or free with Priority Pass and some credit cards. Facilities are modest — don't expect the luxury of BKK lounges. The airport is undergoing expansion that will bring improved lounge options in coming years.

    Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) Lounges

BKK has 15+ lounges across all concourses. Top picks: Miracle Lounges (multiple locations, 800–1,200 THB walk-in), Thai Airways Royal Silk Lounge (business class), EVA Air lounge, and the Louis' Tavern lounge. Concourse G has the best selection. Some lounges offer sleeping pods, showers, and hot meals. Domestic departures have fewer but adequate options. Arrive 1+ hour early to enjoy lounge benefits.

Priority Pass & Lounge Access Cards

Priority Pass: 12,000+ THB/year for unlimited lounge access worldwide including BKK. Covers 1,400+ lounges globally. DragonPass: similar concept, popular in Asia. LoungeKey: linked to many Mastercard products. Thai premium credit cards (Citibank Prestige, KBank World, SCB Private Banking) include complimentary lounge access. Some travel insurance policies include limited lounge visits. Digital passes available — no physical card needed.

    Walk-In Pricing

U-Tapao lounges: 500–800 THB per person. BKK Miracle Lounges: 800–1,200 THB for 2 hours. BKK premium lounges (Thai Royal Silk, etc.): not available for walk-in — airline status or booking class required. Day passes via LoungeBuddy app: sometimes cheaper than walk-in rates. Children under 2: usually free. Children 2–12: 50% off at most lounges. Booking online through Priority Pass app can save 10–20%.

    Food & Drink Quality

Miracle Lounges at BKK: hot Thai dishes, international buffet items, salads, desserts, soft drinks, beer, wine, and basic spirits. Food quality is decent — not gourmet but well above airport food court level. Thai Airways Royal Silk Lounge: premium food, champagne, cocktails. U-Tapao lounges: basic snacks, sandwiches, coffee, and soft drinks. Some BKK lounges have made-to-order noodle stations. Premium lounges include top-shelf spirits.

    WiFi & Work Facilities

All lounges offer free WiFi — speeds vary from 20–100 Mbps. Most have power outlets at seating areas. Business corners with printers and computers at larger BKK lounges. Video call pods available at some premium lounges. WiFi quality at Miracle Lounges is generally reliable. Noise-canceling headphones useful in open-plan lounges. Some lounges have quiet zones for focused work.

    Shower & Rest Facilities

BKK Miracle Lounges: shower rooms available (included in admission or small surcharge). Thai Airways Royal Silk: excellent shower facilities with amenities. Some BKK lounges have sleeping pods or day beds. Louis' Tavern CIP lounge offers private rest rooms. U-Tapao: no shower facilities currently. For long layovers, consider a transit hotel instead (see transit hotels page). Towels and basic toiletries provided at lounges with showers.

    Operating Hours & Time Limits

Most BKK lounges operate 24/7 or from 5 AM–midnight. U-Tapao lounges operate during flight hours only. Standard admission is 2–3 hours — extended stays may incur additional charges. Priority Pass typically covers 3 hours per visit. Some lounges enforce time limits strictly; others are relaxed. Arrive at least 2 hours before your flight to make the most of lounge access.

    Guest Policies

Priority Pass standard: cardholder only (guests at additional charge, ~1,000 THB each). Priority Pass Prestige: some plans include guest passes. Credit card lounge access: usually cardholder + 1 guest. Children's policies vary: under 2 free, 2–12 half price at most lounges. Some lounges cap total visitors — during peak times you may be turned away even with valid access. Call ahead during holidays.

    Don Mueang Airport (DMK) Lounges

If flying budget airlines (AirAsia, Nok Air) from DMK: Miracle Lounge and Coral Lounge are the main options. Walk-in: 600–1,000 THB. Priority Pass accepted. Food and facilities are modest but adequate. DMK has fewer lounge options than BKK. The domestic terminal has a small lounge area. For early morning flights, lounges may not be fully stocked until 6–7 AM.

    Getting to Airports from Pattaya

U-Tapao Airport: 30–45 minutes from Pattaya center (taxi 400–600 THB). Suvarnabhumi Airport: 1.5–2 hours by car (taxi 1,500–2,000 THB), or Bell Travel bus (300 THB). Don Mueang Airport: 2–2.5 hours from Pattaya. Factor in travel time when planning lounge visits. The Airport Pattaya bus terminal on Thepprasit Road has regular BKK services.

    Booking & Tips

Download the Priority Pass app for digital membership cards and lounge finding. LoungeBuddy app shows walk-in availability and pricing. Book lounge access through your credit card's app for included benefits. Arrive at least 2 hours before departure to enjoy lounge access. Dress code: smart casual — no swimwear or bare feet. Some lounges restrict carry-on luggage size inside. Check recent reviews — lounge quality can change rapidly.
